Disc Dynamics Closes $27 Million Round

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN --  Disc Dynamics secured an additional $3 million in new investment, completing a round in which the company raised a total of $27 million.

The company intends to use the funding to finish clinical trials of its disc-replacement device that treats lower back pain associated with degenerative disc disease.

The new investors were Split Rock Partners, Pequot Capital, Brightstone Capital and Affinity Capital.  Other investors in the round were reported to be Medtronic and Maverick Capital of Texas.
